Job Description
Hilldrup is seeking an independent contractor -1099. delivery driver for Final Mile delivery routes around the Maryland, Virgina, Delaware area. Delivery routes will consist of appliance deliveries as well as other big and bulky products such as kitchen cabinets, furniture and fitness equipment. Appliances being installed can range from refrigerators, ranges, hoods, microwave ovens, dishwashers, trash compactors, washers, dryers, and other home appliances.
Significant Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Loading, unloading, and operating a delivery truck daily
- Timely and accurate delivery including install of appliances
- Must be able to follow complex installation instructions as per manufacturer specifications to complete installation of Refrigerators, Dishwashers, Stoves, Laundry, etc.
- Operating handheld device to scan and update orders after each deliver
- Operating and maintaining vehicle in safe and clean condition
- Accountable for ensuring all completed deliveries, delivery exceptions and property damaged are noted and documented with photos through the delivery application.
- Ensure all connections are tested and tagged prior to leaving the delivery location.
- Interact with customer’s personnel in a courteous, respectful and cooperative manner at all times. Represent the company in a positive and safe manner to customers and the public.
Minimum Job Qualifications Required
- Must Own a 26ft box truck with lift gate
- Will be operating a 26ft box truck with lift gate
- 1 to 3 years of experience as a local delivery driver
- Professional work experience as an Appliance Installer
- Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations: Valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Thorough knowledge of equipment capabilities
- Strong geographical understanding of the service area
- Excellent time management skills to ensure deliveries are made on schedule
- Ability to work Monday through Friday with some Saturdays
- independent contractor -1099 does not include employee benefits or W-2 employment status.
