Job Summary
We are seeking Independent Contractors with fuel-efficient vehicles to run assigned delivery routes in the Pittsburgh area. You will be responsible for safe, on-time deliveries while providing excellent customer service that reflects NDS standards.
Routes are up to 200 miles per day. In addition to your daily pay, you will receive a daily vehicle wear-and-tear allowance of $0.11 per mile.
A fuel surcharge is applied when the monthly average gas price exceeds $2.00 per gallon.
Responsibilities
- Use your own vehicle to deliver products to customers or businesses
- Load and unload goods carefully
- Follow assigned routes and schedules
- Provide professional, courteous service during each delivery
- Comply with all traffic and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery records
Requirements
- Active insurance policy with a minimum of 100/300K bodily injury liability coverage
- Willingness to carry occupational insurance, which covers the driver in case of an accident resulting in being unable to work for more than 30 days ($20.75/week if full-time)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and Drug Test.
- Reliable, fuel-efficient vehicle (sedan)
- Smartphone with mobile data for route management apps
- Professional communication skills and strong reliability
- Ability to lift packages and perform physical delivery tasks
- Ability to download and use the delivery app on your smartphone
Position Details
- Role: Independent Contractor Delivery Driver (1099 position)
- Location: Pittsburgh, PA, and surrounding areas
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour daytime shifts (three possible schedules: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch; 8:15 a.m.–4:45 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch; 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch)
