Job Description
This 5-month contract opportunity is for Sprinter, cargo, and box truck operators specializing in local deliveries within the Houston area. Operators will transport mixed general freight, including delicate artwork such as wall portraits and decorative sculpture carvings. Candidates must be equipped with the appropriate VEHICLE and necessary tools to ensure safe and secure shipment of goods. Must have your own vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Perform local pickups and deliveries within Houston
- Transport mixed general freight with care, focusing on artwork and sculptures
- Secure goods using load straps and moving blankets to prevent damage
- Document goods condition with photos before loading and after delivery using a smartphone
- Maintain effective communication with dispatch and clients in English
- Work a 5-day week, adhering to scheduled hours from 7:00-9:00 AM CST to 1:00-3:00 PM CST
- Ensure compliance with cargo insurance and safety regulations prior to project start
Required Qualifications
- Must own a 24ft or 26ft truck, cargo van, or Sprinter van
- Must have valid driver license.
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Smartphone for taking and sharing photos of goods
- At least 5 load straps and 4 moving blankets available in the vehicle
- Willingness to work 5 days per week
- Meet cargo insurance requirements before starting projects
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial driving experience
